MARS ODYSSEY, a 70mm, high-definition, simulated ride film, was my first project out of school, and a defining moment in my career.

This was when my goals of being a photographer had taken a slight detour because of an Alias class that I had taken at Art Center. However, rather than feeling as though I had abandoned my original plans, computer graphics gave me a way to further realize what I wanted out of my art, and my career goals.

Even before photography or the Alias class, I remember wanting moving images to appear on the screen of a Commodore 64. With the infinite possibilities of the 3-D environment, I have the freedom to accomplish what would be unthinkable with conventional photography. Moreover, computer graphics opened the doors for me to the motion picture industry. Today, I am able to take my photography skills, and apply them towards a rewarding job in visual effects -- a field that I have been interested in since STAR WARS, but did not know how to break into.
